The Supreme Court upheld the rights of native people to log Crown land for personal use, issuing a unanimous judgment Thursday on two New Brunswick cases. A key feature of this decision is the confirmation that rights to resource uses cannot be "frozen in time", but rather must be understood as evolving in a modern context.
