TITLE:  Database Administrator

 

JOB LOCATION: 875 Bank Street, Ottawa

 

JOB DURATION: May 3, 2004 to August 27th, 2004

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    The student will be responsible for updating and maintaining a computer database containing a national listing of Aboriginal businesses and organizations related to Aboriginal forestry.  The student will be required to conduct phone surveys, research internet sites and collect information on these organizations to ensure the database is current.  The student may be required to conduct other office related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The applicant must be enrolled in a post-secondary program, be under 30, and must possess;

 

o     Excellent oral and written communication skills

o     Good working knowledge of computers and database systems.

o     Excellent research and organizational skills

o     Ability to work independently

o     Familiarity with Aboriginal issues and culture

 

 

SALARY:  $12.00 per hour for 17 weeks @ 37.5 hours per week
